My 1967 Galaxy 500 XL  with factory air needed vac actuators replaced, one under hood and one under dash at glove box. The factory ones were plastic and very expensive. On ebay, I found using part #434855-0015 a "turbo wastegate vacuum actuator for VW  Golf TDI Garrett turbo charger VNT-15" listed for $15.80 each (2/11/2021). Mine cost more than this since I bought about 10 months ago. These are all metal exterior, and small enough for the job. They required custom sheet metal brackets for both. The one inside under dash required a staggered installation to fit. They work just like the originals did once. FYI

I cannot speak about the other 4 spd trans, but I had a 1970 Mustang with the 428CJ engine and the toploader 4 spd and it was nearly indestructible. Normal wear over 185,000 miles and only the synchronizers needed replacement because of gear lube replacement ever 50,000 miles plus or minus. It was still going when I sold it.

There is a man named Denny Salvage who has put on YouTube a series of videos of salvage yards that he toured and filmed. The titles are "Bring Em Back to Life". These videos are about yards scattered about the USA that sell parts or whole cars and trucks. Some off these yards list their information on the video such as phone # and address. Example: one guy listed a 1953 GMC pickup for $750.00 and it looked to be about 90% there. Most were GM vehicles, but there were T,birds, Galaxies, Falcons, Fairlanes etc.. Some videos had car shows mixed in. Good hunting!

My 1967 gal has blotchy clear coat that has come off of the base coat. So I must remove the clear coat that is left or treat it and add new clear. My question is: does any one have a better easier solution or method? My goal is to simply get the car to be one even color all over. The base coat is black.

Mine is a 1967 gal with drum brakes. I stripped everything off and then removed the front hub. Using a press, I pressed them out and then pressed them in. They came out hard and went back in somewhat easy. With the hub only, you have clearance for the press ram. I am assuming you're car has drum brakes also and a similar design. I believe that I used socket to put them back in for clearance on the thread end and to give something square to
push against.

Anyone ever removed the dash pad on a 1967 Galaxie and can tell me where the hidden fasteners are, especially on the right side over the glove box? Thanks in advance!
