hello. i plan on buying a 65 ford galaxie 500 convertiblesomeone is holding for me. the horn button/ring is broken on it. what parts would i need to fix it? i know Dearborn Classics, Dennis Carpenter, and MAC's all sell horn parts, but i dont know the exact ices i need.

Looks like the clips are broken. if you pull the ring there should be tabs on the under side that allow it to attach to the column. BTW welcome to the forum!!

first wanted to say thanks for the welcome.
second i cant find plain horn clips. all i can find that has clips on it is 2 versions of a Horn Ring Retainer Plate (Plate A & Plate B). is one these plates the clips i need to fix the horn?

That sounds about right. I am not as familiar with the 65 Galaxie as I am with other cars and can not say for certain with out looking at the horn ring. Can you pull the ring and snap a picture of the under side??

Don't know if you found the part yet, AutoKrafters has two horn ring retainers for 65 500. The part numbers are 1965 Ford Galaxie 500 HORN RING RETAINER W/ ALTERNATORPart#: D1TZ-13A809B and 1965 Ford Galaxie 500 HORN RING PLASTIC RETAINER PLATE Part#: C5AZ-13A809A. If you have a 65 parts manual you can look up the second part # a see if it's a match. The D1 part appears to be metal and states with altenator. The second is a plastic one. Hope this helps.
