You got a lot of work into that!!!

When I built the Y pipe for my Bronco, I picked up a handfull of mandral bends in diferent radis' and cut, and fit. Might be a idea to speed up the rest of the system for you.

yes, but the bad ring seal may or may not be a temporary anomaly.   it can be considered normal when the numbers jump up after adding oil when the car has sitting for a while and the cylinders are dry. Also sometimes adding oil in combination with turning over the engine will free up rings that are stuck.  In these  circumstances there is no real ring fault. Of course, squirting oil to temporarily seal up worn rings is no fix.

The best  course of action would be to take another compression test after the engine has been running a while. Those number will tell you more.

adjusting valves is not going to help. They should not be adjustable any ways. Did you do just a dry test? If so put about a squirt or two of oil in each cyl and try it agean. If the numbers jump up a lot, its bad ring seal thats causing the issues. If not, its normaly the valves that are leaking by. Is the engine buring oil? How it is running?? Also has it sat for a long time? Some times the best fix for a somewhat tired engine, is some fresh oil in it, and just drive it. A little crud, a little rust, and sitting sets things up.

Hey guys. Im Paul. I live in upstate NY, and have more then enough projects going on!! I have my 72LTD convertible, that im hoping to dig out of the garage this spring. I also have a 70 Mustang coupe that my wifes aunt bought brand new in '70. That car is totaly stripped in the mid stages of a full restroation. Well, it was... Buying some land, building a house, then two kids coming has pushed them bolth to the back burner for about 10 years now. Now that the kids are getting older [6 and 10] its time to get the LTD out, and running agean. So... here I am. :D the "later model" stuff is hard to find, and info harder, but we keep digging!

It needs a little work to get back to running. A mouse chewed a wire somewere, and it has no power to the coil. the fuel system needs a going thorugh. Tank is rusty, as are the lines. New tank will be needed, I have a NOS sender, and new lines. The pass door shell is REAL rotted. the window reg broke, and when I removed it it came out of the bottom of the shell!! So I realy need a door, or major rebuild on the old one.. lots of other stuff also, but those are the biggys.
