Just did that job on my '61, replaced cylinders and lines. Used regular old Wal Mart ATF, worked perfectly.
I should have done it years ago when I fixed up the car, but I just left the top down and only raised and lowered it by hand.

Daze, I just wanted to say 'Thank You' for the turn signal switch, it worked perfectly. My old one was a real dog!
Thanks again,

Years ago I had a '65 Galaxie with a 390 original engine painted black & gold like Jim's.

I sent some pics as well, did they help any? Sorry they weren't real great, shot 'em with a $10 cell phone.

I'm about 18 bolts and some miscellaneous stuff away from taking the body off the frame of a '61 Starliner. Haven't had any luck with finding body mount rubber biscuits, etc.
Dennis Carpenter's kits go back as far as '63, haven't heard back from Restoration Specialties, but their catalog doesn't list a kit for it.
Anyone have any experience with where I might find a kit?
Thanks,
Glenn M.

It mystifies me why there is no kit for 60-62, but only the 63-64. The frame and suspension for 60-64 is nearly identical if not totally identical from 60-64. You should be able to use the 63-64 Ford Galaxie body mount kit on a 60-62 Ford Galaxie. Compare a Ford parts/shop manual from 1961 to a 1963 or 64 version. Compare the locations of the body mount points and part numbers between the two years. Good luck.

Thanks.
I thought I'd read 'somewhere' that someone had used a '63 kit and nearly everything was the same. Was a long time ago, and I don't know where I read it. I hate having CRS disease, LOL.

Thanks for the tips!
I'm not quite ready to pull the body quite yet, but I usually try to rat away parts that I'm going to need in advance of the project.
Which year VW bug mounts, or all they all the same?
I see that Energy Suspension has a big supply, I'll get in touch with them for sure.
I've got a few old tires, LOL. Maybe that'll do the trick!
Thanks again,
Glenn M.

Hello,
I was wondering if anyone had a plastic "blank off" plate used with a manual transmission that goes where the Cruise-O-Matic shift indicator is used just above the steering column on the dash?
I have a couple of pictures on my computer of a broken one that I have, but I can't figure out how to post one here without using an online picture hosting service that I don't have. I can email them (I hope) if you think you might have one.
Thanks,
Glenn

Make sure the pedal arm comes up all the way to the bumper under the dash before you start tearing into too much stuff. If it is resting as it should you may either be where it's supposed to be, or there may be a bumper problem, etc.
The rod really only raises a problem if you push the pedal down and it goes an abnormal distance before you start getting braking action (Which you said wasn't a problem)...
