I have a '64 Galaxie in which I am installing a 390, and I bought tube headers that consist of sections that slip into one another, Does anyone have experience with these? Should I expect problems with exhaust leakage at the connections?

The joints should seal with carbon over time. Another option is to seal them with copper sealant. I got this from another forum:
"On my Hytech copies on my b18c, I used Permatex sensor safe ultra copper.
I put it a small bead around or inside either side then put them together, this was when they were brand new and not on the car yet.
They haven't leaked or rattle so far.
It only creates a gasket so they can easily be pulled apart again."
How cold is it where you will be driving?? if the weather is not very cold I would not worry about joints and let the carbon seal them BUT if its cold I would be worried about burning valves.

here is another thought you could cut a 1/2" notch in the end of the outside tube and then use a heavy duty clamp on it??
