correct paint colors, not body paint.

i know most ask about the interior and exterior colors, buy yet us OCD's are always in need of more info. ok so what about the inner fender wells and engine compartment parts? flat black is not right nor does satin or gloss black look correct. also correct engine color, i know there are like three engine blue colors. also where can i buy the corect colors? can some of you guys tell me what you used on your resto or touchup. i'm working on a '67 galaxie.

Re: correct paint colors, not body paint.

ok after some more spraying the eastwood satin black and rustoleum gloss black doesn't match. a friend and i searched and found out that eastwood makes a 10-20% gloss that is supposed to be the right factory black for under the hood. i was hoping that i could find something at the local store.

Re: correct paint colors, not body paint.

Have you heard of Blitz Black? Of all places, it's found at John Deere dealerships. Comes in rattle can or quarts. I used it on the frame and firewall of my '64. The guy at the JD dealership says a lot of guys buy it when restoring their classic cars. He even stated he's doing a mid '60's Vette. As far as it being a perfect match, I cannot guarantee 100%, but I'm happy with the results on my '64. For many of the smaller underhood parts, I just shot them with rattle can satin black from Wal Mart.
