Re: Show Me Your Ride(s)

That is one nice looking '67! Can't go wrong with a 5.0 roller engine. Great reliable engine that is surprisingly powerful. Even in a big car. We have a a non HO 5.0 in our '96 shop Bronco and it will move that big heavy brute pretty well.

Re: Show Me Your Ride(s)

Love it! The 400m is an oft passed by engine that actually WILL make power. My first car was a '77  LTD II w a 400m. Great car and even stock was surprisingly fast. Made even more so after building.

If you need 400 performance parts and some of the best Cleveland heads made, check out T Meyer. I am colkecting parts for my wife's 351 m. It actually going to displace 434 ci. Will post the build when it starts happening.

It is a great ride.

-68 Galaxie XL, 390 2V, C6, 2.75 rear. Edelbrock 1806S carb and supposedly CompCams 275DEH or 279TH7 cam.

Has been in the country less than a month, waiting for registration. Made in Dallas and bought it ~100miles from the factory.
Have done some checkups, repairs and will be doing so. Pretty complete(missing parts in the trunk). Sheet metal work needed only in trunk area. Changed 17" American Racing(Chinese) wheels with 235/55 tires and made exhaust more quiet.

Partial walkaround with an action-cam: https://youtu.be/jjgj2n_Yk9U

Re: Show Me Your Ride(s)

Love that '68. I've always like the fastback look of that year. As far as the cam goes, I have used the 275 DEH and have heard the 279. It should have a real healthy lope at idle and should be dead below 2500 rpms. Both of those cams start to come alive after about 2500-2800 revs. That should be the other giveaway.

Re: Show Me Your Ride(s)

Bodystyle is the main reason I bought it. Newer looks too bloaty and older headlight position doesn't look that good to me. If that's the nature of the cam then no wonder its so gutless on low rpm.
