Astonished by the prices of these parts; willing to modify the radiator support to fit any suitable FE radiator and the fuel tank. Seems to me that the basic design of the tank changed little over the years this chassis was in use... but vendors seem to limit the 65 and 66 to their years only. What is the critical difference that makes later year tanks supposedly unfit for use? I'm not trying to build a concours car here, just a daily driver.

I can't speak specifically about 65-66 Galaxies but I'm all about making something work that isn't specific. Regarding the rad...if the inlet and outlet in the correct location, transmission line fittings the same and the rad dimensions are close...why wouldn't it work? Regarding the fuel tank, you would have to make sure the bends of the fill tube are correct and that the opening for the fuel sending unit similar.
It has been my experience that at times part suppliers offer stuff for the more popular years and charge accordingly. If you can find something close that works, perfect!

The radiator support has "wings" that extend back towards the engine, not that I am in the least unwilling to cut them away. If I could get my hands on a fuel tank from a later model, I am reasonably sure I could make it work. I don't harbor any reservations about changing what can't be seen, certainly. I just need to get on one with a couple of donor cars.....
