Well, I am only 9 yrs younger than mine.  I am keeping mine with the exception of what's already gone (manifolds and intake manifold) in the trim it is in. There are just far too few of them around anymore. Heck, I still have the original spare in the trunk.

That being said, I have no problem with someone customizing one to the car they want. I would rather see that than another classic car going to the scrap yard. I think what peeves me off worse than that is seeing someone taking a perfectly good driver, and gutting it to restore something more "desirable" at an auction that actually SHOULD be in the scrap yard. It actually makes the hobby less affordable. But hey, that's just my two cents. To each their own. These cars DO make for an awesome custom job due to the great lines from the factory.

Re: Show Me Your Ride(s)

Here's mine since now its road worthy (but still ironing out more details)  390 4bbl edelbrock rpm performer intake, .030 over, sanderson shorty headers,  holley 4150 650cfm street/strip carb, 78/79 Lincoln turbine wheels, deleted rocker panel trim, trim below the grill, trim behind the back window.  Added 63XL bucket seats and custom console.  Crites fiberglass hood.  It's sounds great and runs good.  Can't wait for cruiser season!!

Re: Show Me Your Ride(s)

Some nice cars here for sure. Make me think of my 1st car way back in 73, a red 66 Galaxie, 390 with factory 4 speed.
