Re: 1960 steering conversion to Toyota 4X4 power steering box

I would do a little more research on the unisteer kits. After not a lot of browsing there ended up being post after post of problems. Some of them, seemed more to be installer problems, but others seemed to be issues with breakage, etc. I have no personal experience with them or their product, but it does give me a moment of pause when you see that many "problem" reports.

Re: 1960 steering conversion to Toyota 4X4 power steering box

Thanks for the info. I will research the heck out of it when I get ready. Even a Borgeson box would be a huge improvement. I saw one guy on the '52-'59 Ford forum that did a rack on a '55 or '56 Ford and it looked great. He made up his own brackets.

Re: 1960 steering conversion to Toyota 4X4 power steering box

I have been driving my car for 17 years and now my old body tells me I need power steering.  The Borgeson box would suit me fine, but I will have to modify my clutch linkage to make it fit.  I am waiting for Fatmans solution for the linkage. If they can't help, I will look it the hydraulic clutch option.
