1969 Galaxie heater issue... Winter's Coming!!!

Hi,
I have a 1969 Galaxie daily driver and I have a heater fan issue... it dont blow. I have access to the switch as well as the resistor, but not sure how to test them.  I have no wiring diagrams (not even sure where to get one) Any help would be awesome.
Thx

Re: 1969 Galaxie heater issue... Winter's Coming!!!

First thing I would do is check the fuse. If fuse good I would then try turning on ignition and fan switch then I would slightly tap the blower motor with a hammer. If the blower starts spinning, you found your problem. Back in the day I was able to get many a blower or engine starter to spin that way. If blower doesn't spin, get a test light and check for power right at the blower wires. If you are getting 12V at the blower, then I would replace blower. No power at blower, I would check for power after resistor and then after fan switch. I would suspect it's a bad blower motor before all else? Good luck.

Great, I will try that... I cant actually locate the fuse though as it is not in the fuse box (although there is a spot for it and the a/c, but they are empty of even any connections) I'm assuming its under the hood somewhere.

The fuse panel is under the dash on the fire wall between the brake pedal and the parking brake. The fan is probably on an accessory circuit and may not be on one labeled "blower", or "fan". I'd check for power at the switch and blower motor first.

Well, looks like the problem is solved, turned out to be a bad ground at the blower... right in plain sight.  (I needed to clean that instrument panel that I removed to get the switch--anyway)
thanks for the help
