The car is fairly complete, it's a 390 automatic with a/c. Hasn't ran in 15 years, but engine turns by hand. It will need everything to restore it. Including rear quarter panel. Looking online it seems 68 parts are not readily available, interior parts especially. Have I not looked hard enough or are parts really hard for this year. Any input is appreciated. I can buy if for 2k but don't want to get stuck with hard to find parts. I have already done a boss 302 and currently working on a 63 Galaxie convertible 427. Thanks for the help.

Any input would be appreciated, I really like the car, but if parts are a hassle I think I'd be better off to skip it. Already I'm having difficulties finding a drivers side rear quarter panel.
Is this a buy or skip, I don't know these cars very well, and don't want to make a mistake.
Thanks again,

I'd say that some parts will be difficult to come by. Sheet metal and trim stuff would not have much, if any aftermarket support. Much of the mechanical parts should be readily available.

I would skip it. It will not have any great value after you have invested $ X. and many man hours.
Perhaps the drive train might be worth $500. Visit Craigs List ....Ford Galaxie for your area and
joining metro areas. If this was a deluxe LTD with perfect interior, power windows and chrome..then perhaps maybe.

Does anyone have any info about how to lift a 66 Galaxie off of the frame? I would like some input as to where to support the weight.
thanks for any help you can give,
Joe

You may want to post this as a new thread, you'll get more replies and avoid hijacking this thread.
But I did find this, hope it helps:
There's other sources along with some youtube videos out there, just type '1966 galaxie frame off' in your search engine.
