Hello, I have had a 1964 galaxie 427 for about 13 years now and was hoping someone here could help me decode this car ..Here is what I do know about it and a lot that I don't know
I'm the 3rd owner with 22000 miles on her .. It looks like the car was never titled until 1967
Wimbledon white exterior
Red on red interior
427 dual quad setup
Bench seat 4speed
Bubble top fiberglass hood
And here is the door tag

Color m
Trim 75

Dso 84

The DSO 84 code tells a lot, this is for Home Office Reserve, meaning it may have been special order for a Ford Corporate fat cat. It may have sat in a dealer showroom too, or was ran around with dealer plates. Decode the VIN number and that will tell you more.

I was bored so I added the decoded info in parentheses above. It looks like the hood and second carb may have been added later? I agree it was probably a dealer/manufacturer driven car for a few years prior to title. Seems like a nice ride! I wouldn't be surprised if whoever added the second carb and hood didn't add posi to the rear. Just takes one burnout to find out (2 streaks or one?). 😉 - Garrett
