I'm looking at a 63 Galaxie 500 fastback that's for sale & had a engine question. Would a 390 Police Interceptor engine have come stock in a fastback? I've seen them in 4 door 500's but wasn't sure, I had been thinking of a Mustang but once I saw the 63 Galaxie fastback I was hooked. I'm having to fly there & drive 14 hours back so I wanted to find out a little engine info before I booked a flight. I'm a die hard Ford fan,grandfather worked at Ford plant for many years & have that blue blood(not banjo music type) running through my veins. Thanks for any help

Look at the vwn number, 5 digit, should be a (P) for a 390 Interceptor engine.

Thanks a bunch, it's a Z code, guess someone put the police valve covers on or swapped engines during it's life.
