Pics of your car in stock car racing trim

Many of our cars were used in stock car racing back in the day. I happened to find this pic of a '67 Galaxie as a race car:

Anyone else have a pic of your year/model Ford or Mercury in racing trim?

And a '66:

I haven't seen any Galaxie race cars of 1960 vintage & earlier, or 1968 & later. Maybe someone else could post some?

I'm not a fan of modern day Nascar with all the big money and only three manufacturers (Ford, Chevy & Toyota), but back in the day there were a multitude of brands racing. And that was when practically anyone with a race car who could pick up a sponsor, even just the local gas station, could be seen going for the glory out on the Big Oval.

Actually I had no idea that our full-size Fords were such popular race cars, when I stumbled on the first pic of a '67 Galaxie. But here you have it.

Happy July 4th!

I think that after 68, or so they went to intermediate body, the Torino and Montego for the race car development. The Ford aero cars were Torinos and Montegos.

Re: Pics of your car in stock car racing trim

There were some big cars on the Winston West circuit, like the '67 above. Probably as late as a '68 or '69. In regular Winston Cup, '67 was the year of the Fairlane, some of the first ones were prepped by Holman Moody. This marked the era of the after market front clips and a wide use of the truck-arm rear suspension.
