Hi Guys, I registered here because i need your help. 
First i want to introduce myself. My Name is Manuel, i'm 28 years old, live in Germany (Bavaria) and drive a 68 Ford Galaxie 500 Xl with the 428 Fe engine. So please apologize if my english is not the best. ;) I'm searching for side moldings for this car that are mounted in the middle of the car and goes from the beginning on the Front fenders to the back. I tried to find them but were not successful. It seems that these moldings were not original??? I hope there is everyone that knows more about these moldings (Part Nummer)? Is it possible to buy this moldings? Best regards, Manu

I believe they were optional mouldings, so not every car had them. You may have best luck finding used pieces as I don't think anybody reproduces them. They could have many different names, body side moulding, rub strips, beltline moulding (which often also refers to the window fuzzies at the top of the door). Do you need all of them, or just some? Ebay may be the best source, or at least a place to start.
I think you're talking about the moulding that runs along the body line about 1/3 down from the top of the fender, as in this image.

Hi, thank you for your reply! Yes you're right, thats the molding i mean. I try to get all of them (i think it should be 6 pieces for left and right hand side). In ebay there is currently one piece available, think it could be very difficult to get all of them.:/

I bought the molding for my 62 from ebay. 18 pieces in all and it took me over a year to get it all. I set up a search and got notified on a regular basis as new items were listed. Not a bad way to do it if you have the time to get a piece here and there as it becomes available.
