Hi guys. I have rust problems under the vinyl on my 70 XL sportsroof. The front and back window areas are fairly spongy and bubbles are visible on the vinyl. Finding a donor car is hard up here in NDÂ but I did find a 70 LTD. My question is will the roof work on my 70 xl from the LTD? I understand the "fastback" is not on the LTD. All I need is the top area around the front and back window. Any info is appreciated and thank you for responding.

I don't know if they are the same in these areas, but I would think that you could at least cut patch panels out of the LTD formal roof. If you get the parts car you could strip the finish and filler at the panel joints to better see how the skin might relate to the Sportsroof. I've peeled most of the vinyl from my my roof as it failed a few years ago. I should have ordered a replacement years ago when the exchange rate was good.
