Column is 1/2" longer but I made up that difference
With the dash mount bracket and moved the column inward to Make up the difference
Before welding the bracket on the tube

Good planning! Have you decided on a support bracket for the steering shaft?

Not yet
I've seen pics of yours And dazes so have an idea
Just need to get a bearing ordered for the end of
The column and then a heim for a 1" steering shaft

I am wondering if that column is similar to other Ford columns from that era?? reason I ask is I put a first generation Mustang steering column in my Galaxie and the tube is about 2". I have another steering column out of a 72 Ford pick up and it uses the same basic column. I will try to get out to the garage so I can measure the 72 column ID. If what I have is the same than the bearing I got came from Unisteer. I called them up and asked for the column bearing for one of their Mustang kits and they sold it to me at a reasonable price. I snagged the following pic off of the internet. the bearing (on the right) is just a simple needle bearing set in a steel piece machined to press into the column up to the lip.

Thnx
What's the inner diameter shaft size for that bearing?

I can't answer your question for sure with out dropping then disassembling the steering column from either my Mustang or my Galaxie, BUT I can measure the outside of the tube. Having done so I am 99% sure that what you need is the Mustang column bearing like I used. The OD of my column is 2.25" and the wall thickness is thin, I'm guessing around 1/16" sooooo 2.25 less (.0625 X 2) would be the 2 & 1/8 you are after. In other words I think it's exactly what you need.
My original answer to this post is now looking a little ironic
Sorry but I can't help there. I put a Mustang column in my Galaxie which has a bigger diameter.

It's usually 3/4" d shaft or 1" depending on what you used?
Ford went to 1" when they came out with the collapsible column
And what I'm after is the 1" shaft
But I see unisteer lists a 3/4 or 1" shaft for there kit
How did you get them to sell just the bearing ?

I simply called them up and asked them to sell me one. there is also this option:
