Hello everyone! My name is Jeff and I live in Fayetteville, NC. I apologize for the long first post, but I have several questions since this is my first adventure with an older model FoMoCo product.
I've recently started work on my '61 Mercury Meteor 800 two-door hardtop that has been sitting in the garage for a couple of years. Someone converted the car into a (not so) hot rod / cruiser years ago and I really don't plan any major changes other than to fix the small issues and make sure everything is mechanically sound. The car has a transplanted 351W and C6 which are both in pretty decent shape.
I've run into a dead end on some parts, specifically vent window glass and seals, vertical quarter window seals, and windshield. I've found several sources, but all the listings are for convertibles, Starliners, or sedans, but not the hardtop. I ordered two separate sets of vent window and vertical quarter window seals hoping they would fit, but none did. Both window seals were over an inch too short and I'm leery about ordering a windshield until I know for sure it will work.
I'm wondering if the '61 was a single-year body style since most parts listings are for either a '60 or '62-'63 and whether the '61 Meteor is the same body style (Mercury body style 65A) as the Galaxie or the Fairlane?
Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Get a factory service manual and find the original part numbers. Then get, or borrow, a master parts interchange manual and find out what fits where. MAC's, Dearborn Classics, Auto Krafters may show year and model parts. Check the the body code from the warranty plate, or VIN number for further refinement on your searches. FWIW.

The Meteor is an odd duck. Comets were more popular and share parts with the Falcon. Meteors may share parts with the Fairlane.
For rubber and seals I've used the following (not in a URL format).
weather strip special
rubber the right way
steele rubber
restoration specialties

Dennis Carpenter is a great source for Ford rubber and gaskets too!
Good Luck
