The shop manual shows factory installed a.c. hoses passing through the cowl on the drivers side sort of under the fender. If a.c. is added after market, where in the fire wall are the 2 holes cut for the hoses? Newer Fords have
punch-outs in the fire wall. I doubt that 59 Galaxies had punch-outs. Please advise.

I have not actually put AC in my 62 but if I were to do it I would put the hoses where ever I could that would clear all the OEM parts. I know the heater core box takes up a lot of space on my car and I am assuming the 59 is similar so I would run them out on the passenger's side where ever I could make room. BTW welcome to the forum!!! Sorry some of your questions have gone un answered, not sure if anyone else here has a 59.

Starting in 61, Ford marked the fire wall where the a.c. holes would be punched. If you see a 59 with
Selectair, the two hoses disapear under the left fender.
AND
I just found the page in the Ford 49 to 59 Illustrated parts book...SelectAir parts.
Both a.c. hoses pass through the center..top edge of the fire wall. Next opportunity, I will uncover her..Kate,
and look for the punch outs in the fire wall. I'm really happy that the hood hinges to the front.

Correction.......I new have the huge manual of wiring harnesses with many pages featuring the a.c. system.
The 2 a.c. hoses pass through the firewall at the edge of the left fender.
Finding the double pullleys and the compressor bracket for an early 60s Galaxie big block is proving difficult.
I'm open for suggestions for a bone yard near south east Wisconsin.

INTERESTING! I have not found the pullies and the compressor bracket necessary to add a.c. to
the 352 engine on my 59 Galaxie Sunliner.........YET. If someone not too far from Milwaukee Wi
knows of an early 60s Ford, Mercury or a T-Bird powered by an FE engine (352 or a 390) , please advise.
The above paragraph was written in mid August. This is mid November. No suggestions.
