Daze, since you seem to be the "Man" with these older cars, I'd like your opinion on this
But first.
I did consider IRS, but I am not a fabrecator and I don't really have the funds to have a shop do
it. Plus the floor pan in my wagon is made of the finest "Swiss Cheese" and needs attention.
I'd love to do it, and in the future I might, here where I live I can pick up the IRS from a Lincoln for
about $130
But on to my question. Since I want to have the same bolt pattern, I will be going with the original
Rotor on the front which should be 5 x 4.5" If you know different please let me know, as I saw a
rotor for a 77 Ranchero from ACDelco part number 18A11, but Delco shows the pattern as a 5 x 5"
My other question is, I am thinking of just going down and pick up a set of steel wheels an Tires from
a mid 2000 CV or Grand Marque... Do you think there would be any problem putting them on the
rear drum brakes?

The bolt pattern should be the same. The only problem I could see you running into with those steel wheels is the offset. A 2000 CV will have much higher offset wheel. You may need wheel spacers to make it work.

I put a set of P225/60R/16 rims off of a Grand Marquis of that era to role the car around. They were 5 x 4.5 and fit on the car no problem. One of the issues however was getting them on the car. When putting them on the axle, you pretty much have to jack the car up as far as you can so that the axle hangs down as much as it can to get the tire in the wheel well. I am running disc brakes so the calipers may have caused some of the issue.

Thanks Galaxie, dan
I can find a set of 15" at the wreaking yard...as long as they fit is all I care about.
My friends son bought a PI CV and we went down and picked up a pair of rims and tires so he
could have a full size spare, I might go get them and see how they fit...
Of course I still need to swap out the fron rotors to 5 x 4.5"
I've been waiting two days for a seller on Ebay to return my message...
thanks again...

"the man", thanks for the compliment but I don't know if I am really deserving of it In my experience everything that has been said on this thread so far is also what I have seen. I used turbo stile rims off of a mid 80s grand marquees as a temporary wheel on my car and they worked well. Granada rims should also fit your car. Like Dan said I too have to jack my car up from the body and let the suspension hang down to get my rear tires past the fender lip and over the disc brakes. As to the mid 70 front disc most of the possible donors were 5 on 4.5 Lincoln continentals however were 5 on 5 so steer clear of them.

that last one is the killer, I searched and searched the net for the bolt pattern on a AC delco 18A11
It was listed everywhere to fit the Mid size Fords, IE: ranchero, LTD II, Granada, etc: but also
some lincolns.
I could not find any info the bolt pattern.
but for $17 each including shipping I had to buy a pair, If I'm wrong, I'll try to resell them..
Thanks for your input...
