Hello everyone, new member here.
I ran into this sight after doing a search of R&P on google images.
I have a FE in a 63 galaxie. Im not sure if a rack would fit especially with long tube headers. I did see a mention of the bearing at the end of the steering tube to locate the steering shaft. I know i need to to do that before anything since i modified it to remove the 3 on the tree to a floor shift.
Any info on that bearing would be apreciated.
thanks

Hi Kam, welcome to the Forum. I went to a bearing supply place to get it. Inside diameter is 3/4", outside diameter is 1 3/8". You probably noted it has a flange to keep it in place. I did have to remove a little over 1/8" off the end of the column, otherwise the bearing made contact with the steering flange on the end of the steering shaft. Check with Daze about the header question as I believe that is what he is running.

Thank you.

For what it's worth, I kept the column shift (automatic) and used a 6904-2RS bearing. ID is 19.05 MM (.750") and OD is 37 MM (1.457"), which just fits the ID of the inner tube. It still has the plastic spacer between the inner and outer tube.
