Hydroboost

Group
just collected parts needed to do the hydroboost swap on my 64.
Question is will the old type power steering ram setup of the 64 work with the hydroboost?
Or will the pressure from the pump be to much?

Re: Hydroboost

what pump are you using??  Originally I ran my hydroboost with an 80 era Ford pump and the OEM galaxie steering.  Worked fine.

Re: Hydroboost

I am thinking you will be fine, but really wont know tell you try it.  I had a mid 80s pump, Chevrolet hydroboost, and the 60s era ram and all worked fine.  I then switched the ram out for GM j-car R&P and still all worked fine.  I do know that the OEM ram, the j-car rack, the 80s pump and the hydroboost all had different operating pressures but still all worked fine.

Re: Hydroboost

Mustang 4.6L had hydroboost until 2004 so I'd imagine the pump from a 4.6L would work fine.
