I'm new to this forum having just bought a '62 Galaxie 500. I want to add a windshield washer system to it and am wondering how the pump is activated when you want to squirt some fluid? I'm assuming it's part of the wiper switch, whether the car came with a washer systen or not...or would I need a different wiper switch for this?

welcome to the forum!! there seam to be quite a few 62 owners on here including myself. Yes the washer switch is part of the wiper switch.

How is it wired to the washer pump? I've looked at my switch and there doesn't seem to be a wire connection for anything other than power from the battery and power to the wiper motor, plus a ground.
