Hey again, does anybody have a usefull wire diagram for my 68 Ford Galaxie?
i had a little wire melt down behind the ignition switch and need to make sense of the leftovers.
also very helpful would be any tips for easy fixing possibly without ripping out the whole dashboard.
thanks so much.

I spent some time looking and could not find one on-line. I agree with 70XL this is a fantastic opportunity to purchase a shop manual. It will help you with all kinds of things and have the wiring diagram you are looking for. I am also good with wiring so I may be able to help if you have other questions.

Thanks Daze, i do have the chilton and its inconclusive. in the diagram it shows 3 wires going out of the ignition switch but i got 6. so whats that.????? the diagram is prob a more general hook up for 68 - 70 models. it does not help me really.
did you ever rip out a dashboard? step by step removal, possibly with pics?????
that would be awesome.
thanks

When I say shop manual, this is more of what I have in mind. Chilton is a good general book but an OEM year specific book is 100X better, and will have the specific wiring diagram you are looking for.
usually an ignition switch has:
power in
ACC
run
start
from there the wires will split off. I would start tracing the wires you have and see where then go then label them.
I have taken a dash out of a 61-62 but not sure if it is the same for a 68. On a 61-62 there are screws under the molding at the base of the windshield that hold the dash in place.
