Came up with a new tool.

This may be available in the tool world but I have never seen one.  I needed a way to transfer two threaded hole locations from the frame of my Galaxie to a piece of angle iron.  In most cases you can simply measure the hole location and transfer it however in this situation the holes needing to be transferred to angle iron and I wanted to make sure the holes were correct for a flush fit in both direction.  As I pondered the problem I though of a transfer punch set.  I use a set like that all the time but with the holes being threaded into the frame and no access from the other side there was no way to inset the punch from behind.  My solution was to turn a couple of bolts into punches.  I can now thread the bolts into the holes, place the angle iron where I want it and then smack it with a hammer.  this should leave me with two divots in the steel I can then drill out and have my holes perfectly located.  I love it when a seemingly complicated situation is resolved with a simple elegant solution.

Re: Came up with a new tool.

Just like a dowel centre loctator in woodworking. Excellent solution, and it is nice to have the tools to make the tools. Great job!
