How many leafs are there on a 427 car. I see that some companies sell 5 leafs and some 6 leafs. There are'nt any cars like that around here so I have nothing to go by. Also were different 5 or 6 leafs optional. thanks Don

It is my understanding that these cars came with two different rear suspension options. There was the basic and the heavy duty (towing package) Most of the time the heavey duty rear suspension was a special order so its not terrible common but pops up on all the different Galaxie options.

An aftermarket leaf pack may not be the same as an original OE leaf pack. I suppose the OE leaf pack could have been different based on the supplier and stock at each assembly plant. I would guess that you'd expect a car with the 427 to have the heavy duty suspension, so that would be the specs to use, at least to start with. Are you doing a concours restoration? There has to be some 427, or 7 Litre Registry sites and organizations out there that can give you that kind of specifics.
