Steering shaft removal from 61 Galaxie

Posting a few pictures of what the inside of the steering column hub looks like. You may also find this helpful if you need to change out your turn signal assembly. I removed the entire steering column from the car and performed the rest on the work bench.
First step was revomal of the steering wheel chrome horn ring. Push the ring in against the spring and turn the ring counter clockwise. Also, remove the turn signal lever. One screw on the lever where it attaches to the turn signal assembly. You access it from the underside of the steering hub.

Remove the axle shaft nut, and spring loaded horn contact switch. Use a puller to remove steering wheel.

Remove the horn contact ring(two slotted screws)

Remove the turn swich assembly(two screws back side of steering column hub)Snap ring on shaft partially removed.

Remove snap ring(is located in a groove just above the bearing) from the steering shaft and with a hammer tap the steering shaft out. That's it! Bearing remains in the column when axle shaft removed. You need to remove three screws from outside of steering column to get bearing out
