1964 Galaxie front calipers

Hi,

I'm new to the forum -hoping you guys can help!

I have a '64 Galaxie that I'm planning to do historic circuit racing with inthe UK and Europe. I have had the car inspected for FIA papers, and the only thing they say is wrong are the front calipers. I have Kelsey Hayes 4 pot calipers like my Mustang. Does anyone know what the original would have been? Grateful for any help with this!
thanks

The '64 Galaxie never came with disc brakes from the factory.  What stub axles does the car have?

Re: 1964 Galaxie front calipers

I think he meant spindles with his reference to "stub axles". I expect they still ran drum brakes for racing.

Re: 1964 Galaxie front calipers

yep drum brakes were the only option in 64.  Sometimes when it is a matter of safety you can get a waver for things like disc brakes on "historic" type cars.  Something to look into anyway.  BTW welcome to the forum!!
