I was at the wreaking yard this morning and came across a 70 Merc with a 429 in it...
those were the days, but when lookinat a the newer Ford coyote motor, with 412 from a 5.0
its really amazing. I guess I'd need to run across a Boss 429 to be impressed any longer...
I'm sure many of you know this, but for those that don't
during WWII Ford built about 35k engines for tanks.
they were 1100 CI all aluminum, 1050 ftpd torque. DOHC with dual mags, plugs, Carbs, it weighed a little over 1000lb
and produced 450-500 HP.. it also had Hemi heads....
BTW some guy stuck one in a Mustang... OMG...

Just imagine, engines that produced good power with no computers to spit out this code or that code or tell you which sensor just quit...how could this be?
