The radio in my 62 is not working yet.
one question to start with is the bezel light
the shop manual shows two wires coming into the radio, one is for the light, the other should
be for power to the radio, but does not seem to be working as such.
so question if you have a working original Ford radio, does the bezel light come on with
the dash lights, or with the on \ off switch dial?
I've been without a radio for so long in my driver that I have forgotten...
Also has anyone run across an electronic board to take the place of the tube board
I know about the AM\FM conversion, just not looking to go that route and its like $$$$$

I can't answer your question about the radio light. However, the radio in my 61 wasn't working either. I took it to an electronics shop and they told me it worked just fine. Turns out, the speaker was toast. Put a new speaker in, worked great. My dash is all apart so can't check the light situation for you.

Thanks Dan
I had no speaker, but also 2 tubes are not lighting up
missing the speaker connector, only 4 tubes about $8, but I'll buy 2 sets.
I"m just going to get it working then get a new am\fm radio for under the dash...
split the antennea... add new speakers to the kick panel...
repaired the windshield washer motor yesterday, same for th wiper motor
just need to get the heater fan out...
finish with the radio I hope
But don't you think logically that the light would come on with the rest of the dash lights
why would you need a light during day time?
I think who ever played with this years ago, did not understand the operation...
I'll wire it the way I think it whould be..

Checked my 61 shop manual, electrical schematic for you. Looks like the clock light, heater control light and radio light all run off the same wire, which makes its way back to the dimmer switch. So that radio light comes on when all of the other dash lights are turned on.

Thanks for looking that up
I went ahead and changed the wiring any way, just seemed logical.
today I'm installing an electronic IVR...
wish my soldering skills were better...damn...
