Hi
Well I"m back on the 62 wagon. Just wonderng if anyone with a 62 Galaxie
replaced the bench seat and what did you replace it with?
I saw a pair of really nice split seats from a Lincoln or could have been CV
that would really be nice in the wagon.

For options featuring comfort, you'll have to get something from a late model car. Unfortunately It's tough to find something that matches the older car's style and most modern seating looks out of place in a classic.
I kinda like the XL bucket seats also found in '60s T-Birds - they are abundant, but admittedly not very comfy on longer trips

although I really hate the idea of driving cross country on a bench seat, I think
I'll just have it restuffed and new cover.. replace the (plastic tweed) insert with
cloth... I was gong to use seats out of a 2004 sebring, (seat belts) attached to the seat
but just can not get them to work in the car, seats out of a 62 Galaxie with consol
would work, again just redo the stuffing and material...
Saw a pair of nice seats in a Crown vic,,but they'd need to be redone to match
the color of the car

I put bucket seats out of an early 90s Subaru in my 62. I think they look right at home in there and are very comfortable. I will try to snap some pix tomorrow and post them.

Well at least I am only a day late with the pix

Nice Daze, and thanks for the info and pix
after thinking about it for awhile, I thought I'd go ahead and recover the bench seat.
But I am also going to pick up a pair of buckets out of the Sebring... seatbelts in the seats..
now that I figured out how to attach them to the floor....
Been doing alot of reading about the Tbird IRS or Mk VIII and that might work on the 61-62
Our biggest wreaking yards have half off sale each month.... IRS goes for around $95...
anyway thanks again for the info..

Do you happen to know what the bolt size is for the front seats, assumeing
that buckets and bench use the same bolts..

I believe the font is 7/16" and the back is 3/8. To mount my seats, I built a frame that bolts into the OEM bench seat mounting holes and contours the floor
