Leaking Exhaust Manifold FE block

My stock manifolds are soon to come off.
I have a set of long tubes to go on.
I have heard of troubles with gasket sealing.

Q any recomends as to brand of gasket forheaders applications on 352/390 FE applications?

My wife once asked me why I only liked old ugly cars.
I truly did not know how to safely answer the question.

Re: Leaking Exhaust Manifold FE block

this may not be of much help to you, but to those that are going to be re-using the stock iron manifolds, there is zero need or advantage to using an exhaust manifold gasket. The best way to re-assemble iron heads to iron  exhaust manifolds is to have both pieces resurafaced completely flat on the mating surfaces. then assemble them without ANY gasket OR sealer of any type, and torque the bolts to the Ford spec. They may leak slightly for a few seconds, but thats it. They seal up with microscopic carbon and will never leak since there is no gasket to blow or burn out. Any conpetent machine shop can resurface the pieces perfectly.  This is what I have been doing for years on all Ford small blocks & BB's too. I recently restored the heads on my 352 Galaxie and I assembled it without  exhaust manifold gaskets. Zero leaks, not even for a second.  Ford made millions of engines that way for a reason.

For using headers the absolute best way to go is with SCE copper gaskets:
