Window channel liner replacement

The window channel liner on my 61 Sunliner front windows were toast. Actually, there was hardly any left. As a result the windows rattled horribly when driving. I found some channel liner by the foot and replaced it. I used weatherstrip adhesive to glue it and a wood spacer to insert it into the channel. I put the wood thru a wood planner to get the correct thickness. Using a piece of wood was the only way I could get the liner in the channel properly. It actually went really well, hope the windows won't rattle anymore?

The spacer actually made a good surface to trim the extra liner. On the lower part of the track(the section inside the door, I just wrapped the extra liner around the channel rather than cut it for more holding power.

Re: Window channel liner replacement

Purchased the liner at a local car restoration business...called RPM. Not sure about the price... $4.00 a foot, don't know how that compares?
Did you use weatherstrip adhesive and if so, has it been holding up?
