dan_6776 thanks for the info. I will need to check around and see if any of the starter/alternator shops here in Cincinnati will do it and the cost.

Kevin,
thanks for the info. My Galaxie VIN code says that my roof should be Wimbledon White like your ride. I photoshoped a picture of mine and asked my friends to vote what looked better and about 95% said the white top. Do you have any pics of your ride that I could see. Here is my photoshoped pic.

Wheel covers are in the trunk on display and the 14" white walls weren't anything special. Thanks!

Hello All,
I have a 1964 Ford Galaxie 500XL and the power window motors are failing (they will go down but not up). I have searched all over the internet to find a supplier that has a new replacement or rebuild, but can't find one. The ones I have found only go back to 1965.
Has anyone found a solution to this problem? Any help would be much appreciated.

guitar74, thanks for the reply. That is what I thought. D2 is right below neutral and D1 is at the bottom. I have been driving it in D2 but when I put it in D1 there was no change and I thought it would have revved up.

So I just completed some upgrades and now I am back on the road again. I can't remember if I should be driving in D1 or D2 because when I change between them I here and feel no difference.
1. What gear should I drive in normally?
2. What could be the reason it feels no different?
Thanks!
