I have been using citric acid for a long time, I use 1 pound to 5 gallons of water. I soak small parts in cat litter pails, bigger parts in Rubbermaid tubs. Anything is rust free in a few days, sometimes shorter. I did the front of my hood using an under-bed storage bin. Lashed the hood to my deck and soaked it for 5 days. Don't forget to neutralize the acid with baking soda and water after the dip is done.

Leave the powder in the original wrapping otherwise it looks like a Scarface sized hunk of nose candy. I keep mine in an old Tupperware container with a lid.

Look at Scarebird's stuff. He does some complete kits but mainly does the brackets, bearings and spindle adapters. he furnishes a parts list of rotors, pads, etc. which is available at any parts store. Wilwood makes a nice kit but is close to $600. I went with a brand-x kit and struggled with it but got the parts to go together. I used a '73-ish Mustang master for disc-drums and used an aftermarket proportioning valve I got at Summit.

I can't get it to paste, but search under Energy Suspension body mount kits. They have a good selection of universal kits, pads and pucks.

If the frame rails under the rockers are rusted, pass it up. The repair is costly and tedious. Ford changed the chassis in 1965 and the 1968 is the same design. The tip off used to be rusted brake lines and sure enough, every car I saw the rails and floor pans were rotted through. If the roof is rotted through, water will have collected elsewhere in the car.

I had a NAPA switch on my '59 and it took a ton of foot pressure to make the brake lights work. Now I'm using one that trips at 45 PSI, got it on eBay, actually got a spare too. Only like $13.

Old headlight switches can be troublesome. I put in a new one when I did my harness. The old Ford ones had some funky fuse on them. I didn't trust it. If you have to take it out to clean it, may as well replace it.

Look up Rich on the 57Fordsforever forum, he did one in a '57 Ford that came out great. He also posts on the HAMB '52-'59 sub-forum.

Try Owens Salvage in Texas. He has loads of old Fords. He helped me out with parts for my '59. Also look around on eBay, lots of guys parting out Fords on there too.

I grew up driving things like a '62 Oldsmobile, '64 Cadillac and those brakes were extremely touchy. All it took was a toe on the brake to stop them.

I broke my cam in with Valvoline VR1 10w-30, then went to Brad Penn 10w-40 high ZDDP. Last oil change I went to a Kendall 20w-50 oil, also high ZDDP and $6 a quart locally.

Lots of cars of the era had touchy power brakes. I would go over everything to make sure the linings are clean and the wheel cylinders are not leaking, also a good tip above on the linings. Grease on the linings can make them grabby, but it will tend to pull to one side and have a shudder to it.
