On a 1959 Ford brocure I read that the Cruse-0-matic tranny was only available with the 332 and 352 engines and NOT with the 292. Can anyone confirm or deny this and give me a source? The 292 was
available with only the Ford-o-matic 2 speed autotrans.

I am fairly sure that was the case with all the early Galaxie but I have no source for the info specifically.

Thanks for the reply....... I have a 1959 Galaxie which I know the history of and the car was built at Mahwah where the original owner was a foreman on the assembly line. He ordered the car as his
"retirement car" and as such, I have been told that it came down the line with a different colored build slip inidicating that it was an employees car and thus would recieve special treatment in the mfg process.
My car has the three speed cruise-o-matic but the engine is only a 292. I have had this car since 1984 and it is an AACA Senior car. But I have never seen another 292 with the 3 speed auto. Then, recently I was looking at an old brochure with indicated that the 3 speed was only mated to the 332 and the 352.
Thus, my question......now I'm going to have to do some deeper research. Thanks again for the reply.
