drivers door window regulator

Hey guys I went to roll up my drivers window in my car and I believe that the rod striped out..I took off the door panel and when you turn the spliced rod your crank screws to you can watch it just spin...do I need a new regulator setup or can I just lay a small teach weld on the back of it?? As of now it's setting outside with a tarp over it in the rain.As the garage is too full to work in.Thanks Scott

Re: drivers door window regulator

Get the regulator out of the door and then you'll be able to see what is wrong with it. It can be a bit of an adventure to get the regulator out, but it will come out.

Re: drivers door window regulator

Get the part number off the regulator and see if you can find the interchange info. I expect there is a Master Parts Intechange Manual online somewhere, or someone can help find which cars are suitable donors.
