Not sure..but while we're talking about mirrors..anyone know best adhesive for gluing my side mirror (the glass itself) back onto the mirror housing? I know rear view mirror adhesive is for metal to glass, looks like some white caulk type adhesive was used originally.

Any reason why you could not make the patterns you need out of construction paper and then go to a glass shop and have some mirror cut to match the pattern? As far as how to glue them, I would just use silicone. We had a mirror(4feet by 7 feet) installed in a bathroom and the installer applied 8 spots of silicone about 3 inches each to the back of the mirror and then placed it on the wall. That thing hasn't moved in 15 years!

Presumably the car will move more than your bathroom. I think the glass shop will have good recommendations on what adhesive to use.

Yes, true, point taken. LOL. However, considering the weight of the mirror mentioned and the small amount of silicone used, it has demonstrated extremely good holding power. I would have no problem using silicone for the car mirror application. An automotive adhesive is probably available or go with a two way moulding tape.
