1964 352 valve cover gasket

I have noticed some oil leaking from the rear side of my valve cover gasket . I am interested in knowing what type gaskets would be a good replacement.   Fel pro  Victor?  The current gasket looks like cork material.  Thanks, Bob

Re: 1964 352 valve cover gasket

I don't think the brand really matter, but I personally prefer rubber over cork.  What I do is use a little gasket glue and glue the rubber to the valve cover, but nothing on the head side when I first install them. This allows me to easily install, remove and reinstall the valve covers if I ever need to... not that I take the valve cover off much

I do it the same way, using gasket sealer to 'glue' the gasket onto the valve cover for easy removal. I prefer cork, but it's really just a personal preference as both rubber and cork work fine.
I don't think the brand matters that much either, but I do try to avoid products made in China.
