I'm replacing brake hoses on my 66 Galaxie convertible w/ 352 (power drum brakes all around).
I've been seeing that some sites list brake hose length as 14" and others as 12 1/2" (for same drum brake application)
The ones I am taking off are 12 1/2" but *most* of the sites I see refer to the 14" length.
Anybody know which is actually correct?
I don't believe I see any glaring issues with the (20 year old) 12 1/2" ones I'm taking off, but I want to get it right.
thanks

See if you think the extra length will chafe on something, chances it won't. I looked quick at Rock Auto, all were 14" or 14.25".
They boil down common-size components so they fit a vaster number of cars and carry less inventory. Try places like NAPA and see what they have. They may have catalogs that list hoses by length, thread size and so on.

I just replace mine on my 65 Galaxie last year and believe I used the RAYBESTOS BH29709 but I got them thru my local supplier. I also replaced the rear hose which is more age specific the fitting on the differential is a little different bracket , but either could work I suppose.

I don't know for sure, but what makes sense to me is the 14's maybe are for power disc brakes instead of drums. They were also factory on the 1966 year.
