Hi, I need some help on this. I have a 1967 Galaxie 500XL with a 390 4V and all drum/drum Power Brakes.
I would like to convert to disk brakes in the front and I see a lot of kits for that.
But do I need to swap the vacumbooster and MC?
Why cant I just get the disk/caliper set and keep the org power booster set up?

Enter "master cylinder question" in the search bar. It will provide some answers to your questions.

you can keep the booster but you will need to replace the MC with one that is disc/drum and large enough bore to work with a booster.

Disc brakes weren't that popular on the big Fords until 1971-1972. I would source parts from a 1973-1974 full size Ford. The earlier disc set ups were a bit odd and older parts may not play well with what's now available as after market.
