dash bezels

can anyone tell me how to change the air knob bezel on the left side of the steering wheel on a 1964 galaxie 500? I have changed the rest. the one on the right has a set screw on the knob its self, but there isn't one on the left side air knob. any help would be greatly appreciated.

Re: dash bezels

often times Ford pull type knobs are hard cast onto the shaft because in a pull application the set screw is not up to the task.  to get the bezel off (depending on how its set up) you will either need to unscrew some sort of retaining nut from the back side or use a special tool to unscrew from the front.  When you pull the nob out if there are groves in the bezel they are there to insert a tool and unscrew the bezel.  Let me know if I can be of further assistance.

Re: dash bezels

The left side is the really short cable.  I just undid mine from the air inlet and removed the entire cable to fix mine.  I had a broken air and all the rest were ugly.   In lieu of buying new chrome ones $$$  I painted mine, then scraped the letters, as they light up at night.   Turned out OK.
