Hi
I'm new to this board so a short intro first.
I live in Norway and I own a 61 Country Sedan that was sold new in Norway in 1961.
I have owned the car for about 20 years.
The car is a bit rusty and need a great deal of work.
My main concern at the moment is the roof. It's lots of rust where the roof are mounted to the body. When I removed the sealer I can look straight into the inside of the car.
What I really can't understand is how the roof is fastened to the body. Does anyone know?
I can't see any welding along the roof. Can the sealer be the only thing holding the roof in place?
Or should it be solder/welding spots somewhere along the sides?

when you remove the seam sealer from the drip rail you will find the welds. They are spot welds every few inches or so for the entire length of the drip rail. Welcome to the forum!!!

I'll have tried to look for the spot welds, but they are hard to find.
You are sure this is how the roof are fixed on these wagons?
I found this article about a Chevy repair:

Does that look similar you think?

There are a lot of pinch welds that that are impossible to see unless you cut the whole car apart, which I figure you want to avoid. If the head liner is down, look inside with a flash light & mirror to get some sort of idea.
