    61 fordomatic surges going into second

    Hoping someone has an idea where I should start.  Have a 61 with 292 and two speed fordomatic. When moving slowly I get a rpm surge between shifts up. Shifts down without issue. Seems not to happen if accelerating tho only slow cruise speed shift.  Occasionally I'm also getting a belch of trans fluid when I put it in reverse to get out of garage for first time of the day. May not be related.  Any thoughts?
