Hey all, Ok, I'm fine, things are back on track.... hahaha these things happen once in a great while and
always its when I am working on my own cars...
I decided to go with the wheel adapters, saves money.
I have goodyear 235\70r 15 now... getting down
I am thinking of going with off sizing
say a 235\70r 15 in the back and a 225\60r 15 in front
any suggestions, thoughts on this
the car is a 62 country sedan wagon, I have plenty of wheel well for either... tread width on the
235 is about 10"
I'll be installing the transmission wiring harness this week, but putting off on the drive shaft until
next month (yes money)
I appreciate all the input you guys give me..
Best
Dave

I just installed some 20's on the rear and 18's on the front of my 61. I have to say that decision blew my budget. I am happy I went that way but ouch! It cost me way more than I planned to spend. Those 20's were easier to get into the wheel well than the 17's I previously had. I don't regret that decision, but man it hurt at the time!

What are you dudes doing to that poor wagon. How will the original wheel covers fit on 15" rims?
The tires available with white stripes are Hancook. They will cost approx. $70 each + shipping.

Well, sinced you asked...and since I'm being included in your post and I can't speak for Sanddoc...I would like to respond. I get the impression that you are wondering why we are modifying our cars or not keeping them original. In my case...I just want to make the car better! I drove it when it was original and although it was nostalgic, it didn't steer or stop that great. I am hoping that once it is on the road, it will be much more enjoyable. The choices I make, I hope improve the looks and more importantly function. I feel when done, the car will drive and look better. I plan to drive it often and take pride in all that I accomplished. In my opinion, my old Galaxie will never be a collector item, just a nice old car, so why not change it up a bit. Modifying the car may or may not increase the value, but that really isn't the point. Enjoying the restoration and one day being satisfied with all things done is my main objective...and cruising around in a car a little bit different than all the other ones out there!
