Going with a hydroboost brake system, I needed to add a brake light switch. I found a good switch off of a 73 Buick at the local salvage. It is adjustable and simple. Mounting it required welding a bracket to the brake pedal support bracket.

looks good. how come you decided to ditch the hydraulic pressure brake light switch??

Couple of reasons: Firstly, I just didn't want to plumb in a distribution block for the hydraulic switch with the hydroboost conversion and all of the new brake lines. Secondly, I just thought it would look a little neater without the switch and wires showing. Thirdly, I remember the brake lights not coming on soon enough unless the brake pedal was depressed a good way down. That hydraulic switch just didn't seem reliable...may it needed to be changed out. I just thought going with the spring loaded switch would address all of these issues?

Those are all good reasons!! I was just curious what the thought process was. When I redid my brake lines I went with the hydraulic switch because it was easy and at the time it was familiar to me as my 64.5 Mustang also came with the hydraulic switch. The only thing I know for sure is that the brake switch used by ford starting in 65 are a PITA so it is good that you found a better alternative.
