Picked up a toploader

I got a great deal on a 64 Toploader and shifter for my Galaxie today.  It's missing the shifter tabs on the transmission and shift handle, but otherwise complete. Next steps are going to be a rebuild, find the correct shift handle for a 63 4spd with bench seat (correct one on the bay right now, but $450.00), buy the shifter hump, clutch release lever, clutch and pressure plate set.  Anybody know which clutch lever the 63's with the factory shorty cast iron headers took?

Re: Picked up a toploader

According to the parts manual, the 63/64 406 and 427 cars used the same clutch release lever, Ford part# C3AZ-7521-D for cars built after 11/21/1962.

Re: Picked up a toploader

couldn't you just use a Mustang toploader shifter then lengthen the linkage to fit your application???

Re: Picked up a toploader

I've got the shifter, it's the clutch release lever I'm missing.  I think I might have one and if nothing else, I know my dad has one out of a 68 428CJ that I will grab.
