1967 Galaxie XL console shift indicator light is inop, (automatic), anybody know how to test if its the bulb and if so how to change it? I pulled the seatbelt storage tray and am able to access the metal tube that houses the light but cannot figure out how to remove the bulb

Use a battery and apply power to the lamp and see if it lights.
