Hi, i neewly bought an old original ford Galaxie 500 -65. Its engine is painted with yellow color on the valve caps and the air breather is gold. Is it an orignal color? I also wonder it has a 352 cui, it ia supposed to be more horsepower than original 250, (about 300) can i see that somewhere? A code or something? It has history has been here in sweden since 2005 but used to bee driven in the sixties in New york by a policeman in as a duty car. Greetings from me in sweden //Mattias

Here is some info I found about colors, I hope it helps
390 PI was black block and heads, with gold valve covers and air cleaner.
Thunderbird 390 Special was black/black, with silver valve covers/air cleaner.
Thunderbird 352 Special was black/black, with blue valve covers/air cleaner.
All taken from a book called "Super 60s Fords".
As to the engine size a 240 is an inline 6 engine also in 65 you could get the 289 windsor stile V8 and the bigger FE V8s. Can you post a pic of your engine?? with a pic I could tell you if it was an inline 6, windsor or FE.

I'm not sure because ive read about a hotrod yellow painted covers on 352. My car has a 352 with a four barrel carburetor and gold air cleaner, yellow covers. Not repainted! Black block is correct.
